CROQUET CLUB PARTY

PRESIDENT ENTERTAINS MANGERE EAST FUNCTION Members of the Mangere East Croquet Club and friends were entertained by the president, Mrs. Chapman, at an afternoon party on the lawns on Thursday. Progressive croquet was played and during the afternoon tea was served in the bowling pavilion, which was decorated with flowers in the club colours. A bouquet was presented by Miss Tims to Mrs. Chapman, and at the close of play flowers were presented to Mrs. C. Webber, president of the Auckland Croquet Association, Mrs. A. Blessing, secretary of the association, Mrs. McGill and Mrs. Cowie, The winners of the tournament were: A grade, Mrs. Hickson; B grade, Mrs. Smith; hidden number, Mrs. Bishop; competitions, Mrs. Laslett and Mrs. Bowden.

Among those present were:—Mesdames Bowden, Belcher, Burns, Massey, Henwood, House, Gordon, Penman, Smith, Robertson, Bishop, Prangley, Saussey, Soloman, Ellison, Webb, Hickson, Pullen, Bagust, Jackson, Tait. Newson, Low, Martin.
