AMERICAN IMPRESSIONS
TALK TO LUNCHEON CLUB MANY MEMBERS PRESENT A well attended meeting of the Auckland Women's Luncheon Club was held on Thursday in the Milne and Choyce Reception Hall. The president, Mss. .T. Gulliver, presided and introduced Mrs. Ki Griffin, who spoke of impressions gained in the United States. Sho referred to the goodwill shown by the American people to New Zealanders and of the interest displayed in recent social legislation in this country.
When visiting New York Mrs. Griffin saw put into practice plans, for dealing with unemployment, in winch the main principle was that it was uneconomic to place a person trained for one particular calling to work at something for which he was entirely untrained. For example unemployed musicians were organised and gave open-air concerts to enormous crowds who were quick to appreciate the musical works so presented. Mrs. A.
