PROFESSIONAL BOXING
JENKIN RETAINS TITLE [BY TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION] DUNEDIN, Thursday A boxing bout at Oamaru to-night between Stan. Jenkin, lOst. 31b. (Oamaru), holder, and Jack Jarvis, 9st. 121b. (Eltham), for the professional welter-weight title, ended in the third round, Jenkin winning by a knock-out. The fight was fairly even up to this stage. The title-holder connected with a heavy right to the solar plexus, Jarvis going down for the count. After a medical examination Jenkin was awarded the decision.
