MAGISTRATE'S COURT
THAMES-TE KUITI CIRCUIT CONGESTION OF WORK [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Thursday A cordial welcome was extended to Mr. W. H. Freeman, S.M., by the members of the Hamilton Law Society in Hamilton to-day. Mr. Freeman is taking over the Thames-To Kuiti circuit, while Mr. F. H. Levien, S.M., is on leave of absence. The president of the society, Mr. H. J. McMullin, said that the services of an additional magistrate were greatly needed to relieve the congestion that existed at Te Kuiti and elsewhere. Mr. Freeman said there was some misconception regarding his transfer. As far as he knew, it was not intended that he should assist the present magistrates in relieving the congestion that existed in the Courts; but that in the meantime he should relieve Mr. Levien while he was away. It was expressly desired that he should live in Hamilton, which was the logical centre of a circuit that could be worked by motor-car.
