INTERESTS OF EMPIRE CLOSE TOUCH BY BRITAIN LONDON, March 30 In the House of Commons to-day r Mr. J. J. Tinker (Labour —Leigh) asked the; Prime Minister, Mr. Chamberlain, to summon a conference with the Dominions respecting action by nation# against aggression by any nation. In reply, Mr. Chamberlain emphasised that the Government kept in very close touch with the Dominions regarding the international situation. Mr. Tinker: "Should not something; bo done before anything occurs?-. Mr. Chamberlain: That has been, taken into consideration. "Bearing in mind that the Government received assurances that Italy had no territorial designs in Spain, is it not desirable to obtain similar assurances from Germany?" asked Major J. C. Milner (Labour —Leeds). Mr. Chamberlain replied: "They have been given."
VOTE OF CENSURE LABOUR IN OOIVIMONS LONDON, March 30 The Labour Opposition has tabled the following vote of censure iin the Housfr of Commons:—"That, as the foreign policy of the British Government cannot! arrest the dangerous drift toward war! and is inconsistent with its election, pledges, the House is of the opinionj that the issue should be submitted to' the country without delay." The motion will be debated in tho House next Monday. / «
