Insurances were a shade weaker, both Jtov Zealands and South British being marked down on sale. Renewed interest „as shown m shipping issues, Huddart P*rker and Northern Steam (paid) ihowing a slight improvement. Auckland Gas were steady. Breweries were again ntisu pportccl. Jletal shares' oponed with weak ineuiry, although offers improved during the day. Australian Iron and Steel (preference) made a slight gain. Chain stores were again slightly easier, quotations for Coles and Wool worths (NewZealand) both 1 being lower. The Australian issue, after a sale at late levels, t l so eased. Farmers' Trading remained steady.
