EXTENSION TO SUPPLY ENGINEER TO REPORT [BY TELEGIIAPH OWN" COUHESPOXDKNT] TE AWAMUTU, Tuesday A decision to engage Mr. R. P. W or]ey, of Auckland, as consulting engineer to report on the proposed extension to the Te Awamutu water supply was reached at a meeting of the r le Awamutu Borough Council last night. The council has considered three different schemes to provide for the ever-growing needs of the town. The first proposal is to lay a 12ir. main for approximately half the distance from the intake to the town, and to duplicate the existing Sin. main. The second proposal provides for the laying of a 9in. main alongside the present Sin. main, and the third proposal is for the construction of a reservoir in Pakura Street for the storage of water.
Mr. Worley is to report On these schemes, and he has also been given a free hand to submit other schemes if he thinks them preferable.
