OBITUARY
MR. SYDNEY WAIARI [by TEI.KGRAi*H —oW>' CORRESPONDENT] WHAKATANE, Friday The death ha;; occurred at Te Teko of a well-known Maori, Mr. Sydney Waiari, aged 6-> years. Ho was a member of the Xgaiterangi tribe of Taurangn, and was educated at St-. Stephen's College. Auckland. He had lived in Te Teko for the last 40 years, where he was an interpreter. Mr. Waiari took a prominent part in Maori affairs and was for several years a member of the Mataatua Maori Council. A fcungi is in progress at bis home.
