DEBATE WANTED FEDERATION OF LABOUR REQUEST TO GERMAN COUNT [nV TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] WELLINGTON. Friday An invitation to Count Felix von Luckner to debate Nazi ideology at a public meeting was issued to-night by the New Zealand Federation of Labour under the baud of the president, .Mr. A. Me Lagan, atttj the secretary, Mr. F. D. Corn well. In a statement they said that Count von Luckner's visit was discussed by the council of the federation now sitting in Wellington. "We concede Count von Luckner the right to his opinions and to express them freely,'' the statement continues "We invito him to come oat in tht> open and express his opinions at a public meeting. If he will debate with our representative the cause of fascism against the cause of democracy, we guarantee hint a fair and courteous hearing."

COUNT VON LUCKNER'S REPLY DENIAL OF PROPAGANDA [*BV TELEGRAPH —OWN CORRESPONDENT] WF.LLIN(rTOX, Friday "Do they think I have come 16,000 miles, 380 days at sea, to talk propaganda?" asked Count Felix von Luckner, when shown the Federation of Labour's challenge to-night. "I have nothing to do with politics," he continued. "In ail in.v travels I have not spread any Nazi propaganda. Indeed. I have been strictly forbidden by my Government to export the political views of my countrymen. Our Government is our own, and we do not wish to export it to any other country. "But let me tell you this," he added. "In Germany to-day, it is the labouring people who are the great power behind Herr Hitler. There is no country which has such wonderful labour organisations as Germany."
