Cox's pair for Trentham, Lowenberg and Prime Quality, were the only work of interest at Hawera this morning. The plough and the course proper were in great order. On the plough Lowenberg (Monklay) moved attractively over half-a-mile in 50Js. He is in great order at present and, although he is unlikely to be suited by the large field, in the Thompson Handicap, he should run well in the Autumn Handicap, one mile and three furlongs, on the second day. With the pegs well out on the courso proper Prime Quality (Monk ley) and Dark Eagle (Fryer) pleased by getting to the end of half-a-mile in 52-}s. Prime Quality has made rapid progress during the last two months and his Trentham prospects appear bright. The New Plymouth trainer L. E. George contemplates removing his headquarters to Hawera, and is expected to take over the establishment recently vacated by .T. Fryer. George has Race Call, Winsome Lu and Dancing Lady under his care.
