FUEL FOR NAVY
ADEQUATE RESERVE SUPPLY TONNAGE OF CAPITAL SHIPS British Wireless RUGBY, March 9 Replying to a question in the House of' Commons, Mr. G. H. Shakespeare. Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty, stated that the Admiralty was taking the necessary measures to accumulate an adequate reserve of oil fuel for the Fleet. Arrangements were also being made to provide for its protection against air attack. In reply to another question, Mr. Shakespeare said the tonnage of tho two capital ships in the 1938 construction programme was still under consideration. No further information had been received regarding the size of the Japanese battleships* projected or in the course of construction.
