CATHOLICISM

Sir, —I notico with surprise and regret your constant reference to the Catholic Church, which is a misnomer. The recent centenary was not that of the Catholic Church, but only of the Roman Catholic portion of the Christian Church. All members of the Anglican, Baptist, Methodist, .Presbyterian and every other Christian Church are members of the Holy Catholic Church. They are generally /called after the names of the Church to which they belong. The recent Church celebrating in Auckland their centenary was the Roman community. They havo no more right to be called the Catholic Church than any other Church. That, of course, is a historic fact. Kerikeri. Edward S. Little. '
