LUNCHEON PARTY AUSTRALIAN GUESTS Mombers of the executive and the ladies' committee of the Auckland Travel Club met at luncheon last week at tho Station Hotel to bid farewell to Sir. and Sirs. James Payne, who were passing through Auckland on their way to Egypt. Sir. Payne was stationed at Wellington as assistant Trade Commissioner for Australia, and has now been transferred to Cairo to represent his Government there. Also as special guests at the luncheon were the Rev. John Flynn, of the Australian Inland Mission, known as "Flynn of tho Inland," and Sirs. Flynn. Short speeches were made by Sir. Payne and Sir. Flynn. Sirs. Victor Slacky, honorary director, acted as hostess and presented bouquets to Sirs. Payne and Sire. Flynn. and to Sirs. Arthur Griffiths, one of tho foundation members of the club, who was leaving that day for a visit to England and the Continent. Thoso present were: —Sir. and Sirs. Jas.
