CRICKETER SUSPENDED MEMBER OF EXECUTIVE [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] PALMERSTON NORTH, Tuesday An unusual step was taken by the Manawatu Cricket Association to-day when it suspended a player, K. Olliver, who is also a member of the executive of the association. The suspension will stand until Olliver withdraws allegations mado by him aga an umpire in a letter to the Umpires' Association. A protest was received by the executive from tho Umpires' Association, which claimed that there had been an unwarranted reflection upon the honesty of purpose of certain umpires. The chairman, Mr. A. M. Ongley, asked Olliver to withdraw the statement he had made. "I am still of the opinion that the allegations were true," replied Olliver, "and there will be no apology."
