THE SUEZ CANAL
EGYPT DEMANDS VOICE CAIRO, Feb. 25 Egypt demands a voice in any discussions between Britain and Italy regarding the Suez Canal, in connection with which the Prime Minister, Mahmoud, is seeing Sir Miles Lampson, British Ambassador, to-day. Mahmoud will direct attention to Article VI. of the British-Egyptian Treaty, which states: "Should any dispute with a third State produce a situation involving a risk of rupture with that State, the high contracting parties will consult with a view to a settlement by peaceful means in accordance with the League Covenant or any other international obligations applicable to the case."
