RELIEF FOR FAR EAST
CLOSING SUBSCRIPTION LISTS As a result of the appeal for the relief of distress in the Far East, the sum of £7119 has been raised by the Joint Council of the Order of St. John and the New Zealand Red Cross. It was deoided at the last meeting of tho council to recall all subscription lists on or before February 28, by which time it is hoped that the objective of £IO,OOO will have been reached. Two doctors, Dr. Robert B. Grey, of Auckland, and Dr. Hector C. Tremewan, of Wellington, have been appointed for service under the Joint Council, and medical equipment including instruments and drugs to the approximate value of £4OO was supplied to them for' use -on their arrival in China. Dr. Grey arrived in Hongkong on February 5 and Dr. Tremewan left for China on February 32.
