D. G. Sullivan, to-day. The district officer of the department in Auckland reported that employment lias been increased and during tlw seasonal rush individual firms found it necessary to apply for permits to work overtime. Generally the business exceeded that done during the previous year. The prospects for sauce production are regarded as particularly good and satisfactory trade conditions are anticipated. Limited, show a net profit of £30,985 for the- year ended December 31. against £13,386 in 1930. Paid capital during the year was increased from £113,550 to £340,777 by a distribution of bonus shares folloAving a revaluation of assets. Gross profit was £48,306, against £27,757 in the previous year. An interim dividend of 8 per cent was paid in September on the old capital. The directprs now propose a final, dividend of 8d a share (equal to 3 1-3 per cent) on both preference and ordinary shares. This will require £il.3sP, making the year's distribution £20,585, or 6.04 per cent on the present capital. In 1936 16 per cent, requiring £18,168, was distributed. After the dividend appropriations £47.488 remains to be carried forward, against £46,173 brought in.
