THE CORONER'S VERDICT [from OUR OWN CORRKSrONIJENT] PUKEKOHE, Monday A verdict of accidental death by drowning was returned by the coroner, Mr. 0. K. Lawrie, at" the inquest today into the death of Mr. Robert Leonard Harley, aged 25J labourer, who was drowned in the Waikato River at Mercer on Saturday evening. Evidence was given by Mervyn Allan Tetzlaff, aged 11 years, that deceased borrowed his 9ft. duck boat to cross tilts river to bring over a larger boat. Witness warned him that the duck boat was hard to balance; for anyone nob used to it. Later he noticed that deceased had tipped out of the duck boat near the far side of the river. The boat was swamped and he was splashing near it. He then disappeared. Witness ran and told his father.
