Telegraphing last evening, the Hkrai,d's correspondent stated that the meeting was likely to be one of the most successful held in recent years. The track was in capital order and would not be affected by the rain which fell during the day. The following horses were likely to be in strong demand:—

OTAHUHU HANDICAP FIELD . With the exception of Crocus and Noble Prince, who have mile and aJialf . records of 3.17 ,2-5, all the candidates for the Otahuhu Handicap at Epsom, to-day have been successful at 'two miles and have grass track records of varying degrees. Nervie's Last, 4.21 T.-5 ? has the fastest dirt track record, and hia best at •Epsom,-4.26 3-5, is only a shade worse than Lady, fame's 4.26, registered when she won the Jellicoe Hnndicap in October. Kewpie's Triumph, 4.24 1-5. has the fastest grass performance, while at Addington Fernbrook Lass registered 4.25 3-5. She has a grass winning time of 4.36. Star Pronto won in 4.35 2-5, and was twice fourth in 4.30. Gold Dredge has run 4.29 2-5, and several times bettered 4.31, while Auto Machine's best at Epsom is 4.29, although at Addington he just missed a place in'4.2o;'Our McKinney has won and been placed several times on holding tracks, his best being 4.32 4-5 in August. Ken worthy, who ran 4.36 for second in thei Hawera Cup, and first in the Tarnnaki, improved to 4.30 1-5 when lie followed Lady Fame homo in the Jellicoe Handicap.
