INMATE OF ROTO ROA THREE MONTHS' IMPRISONMENT "He is not amenable to discipline at all," said.Major P. G. Norman, superintendent of the inebriates' home on Roto Roa Island, when Hugh Jones, a seaman, aged 57, appeared in the Police Court before Mr. F. K. Adjutant Liddy said he saw accused wading in the sea. On one occasion the man had complained about his moat ration, and- used bad language in the dining room. "If ever a man had a chance this one did," 1 said the magistrate, who added that accused's actions were well known to him.
