STOCK LOADING YARDS
MORRINSVILLE SCHEME MINISTER REJECTS PROPOSAL [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] MORRINSVILLE, Friday The Railway Department will not provide stock loafing "jrards near'- the Morrinsvillo saleyards, according to a letter received from the Minister of Railways, the Hon. D. G. Sullivan, by Mr. It. Coulter, M.F. for Waikato, which was read at a meeting of tho Morrinsville Borough Council last evening. For some time Morrinsville farmers and business men have urged that new yards should be provided at the back of the saleyards for tho convenience of those trucking stock from the sales. The Minister stated that the matter had been closely .investigated, but the circumstances disclosed that the transference of stock-loading facilities would not be warranted at the present time. To construct new yards at the proposed location would involve a very heavy expenditure and the handling of stock traffic at a site some distance from the station yards would create pronounced operating difficulties unless a special siding w«3 provided.
