THE EOYAL SQUADEON GOVERNOR-GENERAL'S GUP HARBOUR RACES ARRANGED The Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron will hold a series of harbour races this afternoon, starting and finishing off King's Wharf. The first division yachts will compete for the Governor-General's Cup and miniature, the second division for the Johnson Cup arict miniature, the third division for Commodore H. J. C. George's prize of £5 and class M for the Drysdale Cup and miniature. The starting times are as folows: —First division yachts, class A, 2.30 p.m.; second division, class B, 2.20 p.m.; third division, class C, 2.10 p.m.; M class, .2.45 p.m. Following aro the entries: — First Division. —Ariki, Tawera, Ngatoa, Rawcno, lorangi, Little Jim, Victory, Waiomo, Moana. Second Division.—Waione, Altair, Windward, Tainui, Tawhiri, Tangaroa. Third Division. —Mahaki, Kotuku, Peri, Dorothy, Miaerva, Rarcro, Medina, Anita. M. Clats.—Mawhiti, Marinita. Manoa, Manaia, Maratea, Maroroa, Maroro, Manu, Mercedes. The handicaps will be declared at noon to-day. EVENTS ON THE MANUKAU ANNUAL CHAMPIONSHIPS The annual championships of ths Manukau Yacht and Motor-boat Club will take place to-day, when the following events will bo decided:—

Z Class Claampionship, to start at 2.15 p.m.—Course: Start between clubhouse and buoy moored west, thence round black buoy off Mangere beacon, thence round Mount Eoskill wooden beacon, thence round concrete beacon, thence round Colson's beacon, thence round Mount Roskill wooden beacon, thence round concrete beacon, finishing between end of wharf and red buoy; all turning marks to be kept on starboard. Entries: Tamaki, Valeta. Open and 18ft. Championships, to start at 2.30 p.m.—Course: Start between club house and buoy moored west, thence be tween Mangere beacon and black buoy, thence round red buoy off Horn, thence round black buoy off Mangere beacon, thence round red buoy off Horn, thence between Mangere beacon and black buoy, finishing between end of wharf and red buoy; all turning marks to be kept on starboard. Entries: Open championship, Merc, Mystic, Atalanta, Ranui; lbft. championship, same .as for those for open, with the addition of Mqia.

Entries: Sea Elf, Shirley, Topsy, Sea Nymph, and post entries. Novelty Launch Race, to finish at 3.15 C.m. —Course: Start between clubhouse and uoy moored west, thence round dolphin off whnrf (starboard), thence round fifth red buoy (starboard), thence round dolphin off wharf (port), finishing between clubhouse and buoy moored west. T class yacht Vamj>. which is to take part in the "Royal Hobarl Centenary Regatta, left for Wellington yes- | terday to join the Maunganui for Hobart. j They were Messrs. W. Rogers, owner and > skipper, R. Wi!ion, mainsheet hand, P. Rogers, forward hand, R. Rogers and D. .tillingham. Mr. B- Tansley is also making the trip as an extra hand. The Maunganui will leave "Wellington today for Hobart, via the Bluff and Milford Sound and is due at Hobart on Friday. The Vamp will take part in several races at the regatta, including the 14ft. championship of Australia. The regatta will extend over four days, commencing on February 19. In addition to the big events the Vamp will conjpete in a regatta at Bellerive, near Hobart, on February 26. '• | The crew was farewelled by a large number of friends at the railway station.
