Drama Preferred to Crazy Comedy
Carole Lombard will give Hollywood tho chance to justify its faith in her as an emotional actress. Her next picture, "Midnight," will be a heavy drama, originally intended for direction by Fritz Lang, with Dietrich as tho not-too-moral heroine.
Dietrich's wind-up after one more picture gives Miss Lombard her opportunity. .At least it will bo one crazy comedy the less. Another star who thinks ho has dono enough comedy is Gary Grant. Ho hns three dramas on his season's list and that is the way he wants it. They are "Graustark"' for Goldwyn, "Gunga Din" for R.K.O. Radio, and a so-far anonymous one for Columbia. Grant is keeping well occupied and possibly he will rival Gable yet.
