Propaganda Film of Abyssinian War
TWO SIDES OF STORY A curious situation has arisen in London following the showing by the Film Society of the Italian documentary covering the Abyssinian War from beginning to end. The film, modestly enough, is labelled, "The Path of the Heroes." The flagrantly propagandist slant of the film, which incidentally shows that Italy organised her walk-over with overwhelming efficiency, was neatly and cruelly twisted back by cutting in shots from a Kussian documentary showing the Abyssinian side of the story, complete with shattered villages and mutilated bodies. The latest reports are that the Italian Embassy is so embarrassed by the reception of the picture that it is making efforts to prevent the film from being shown elsewhere in Britain.
