Both are most noticeable during the summer months, when we wear scanty clothing ami desire our skin to appear clear and smooth. Experience shows that a lotion which may bleach the freckles from one person will be useless with another, so many creams and lotions may be tried before that one is found to suit the individual case. Home remedies which are most likely to be successful are applications of freshly-cut lemon, peroxide of hydrogen, acetic acid, or white iodine. Any of these should he painted on with a small brush. After the treatment pat a small quantity of skin food into the area treated. If the spots become red. the lotion is too strong, and it should be diluted with rose water. Though a tendency to undue hairiness is often hereditary, it is also certain that the action of the sun's rays tends to make the hairs grow stronger.
