SHOP DAMAGED
FIRE AT GISBORNE [BY TELKGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] GISBORNE, Friday Fire broke out in a two-storey shop in the centre of the town, occupied by Mr. N. L. Davy, hairdresser, and owned by Messrs. A. Owen and F. Ncill, The flames had a firm hold when the brigade was summoned. The upstairs portion of the building, which was used as a storeroom, and the shop below were damaged, but smart work by the brigade prevented the fire from spreading to adjoining premises. Mr. Davy's stock was covered by insurance, but the amount is unknown.
