PROGRESS IN SYDNEY THE NEW ZEALAND PAIRS (Received January 28, 12.10 a.m.) SYDNEY. Jan. 27 The eliminating rounds in the bowls pairs championship were begun to-day. They were interrupted in the afternoon by the storm. The two New Zealand pairs left in played at Mosman and Rose Bay respectively, Macey and Denison winning against the Queensland pair, Sheridan and Kerr, 23 —13. Osmond and Goldfinch lost to the Queensland pair, Boden and Speed. 6—28.
The Fijians, Taylor and Dobell, won. 16—14.
Macey and Denison in the next round defeated the Queenslanders Boldery and Boldery, 17—15, but Taylor and Dobell were defeated by the Victorian pair, 18 —16.
