SMART GALLOPS

REREATU SHOWS DASH

STRETTO'S FIVE FURLONGS

FLEETWIND AND AERO KING

The weather was mainly fine for training work at Ellerslio yesterday, when the course proper, with the poles out 45ft., was used for the bulk of the fast work. The No. 3 grass track was also open. Tho going, after overnight; rain, was easy. The best efforts were good sprinting tasks by Rereatu, Stretto, Eleetwind, Aero King and Play On and a solid milo by Knight of Australia. Un the eourso proper Captain Bruco (AMggins) and Bronze Ora (McTavish) were together at the end of half a mile in 52 3-ss. Both went well, with Captain Bruce finishing slightly tho stronger. Captain Bruco has worked in improved stylo since tho rain came. Knight of Australia (J. Mcinally), after running tho first half in 52 2-os, completed a mile in 1.45 4-5. Under the conditions it was an excellent gallop and ho came homo in solid fashion. He is likely to race well to-morrow. Bonnybello (Gemmell) was sent the last hall'milo with Knight of Australia, but was beaten after taking 51 3-ss. Kilonsa (McTavish) was given a working gallop over seven furlongs in 1.37. She was not extended at any stage and looks well after her Thames exertions.

After taking 25s for her first two, Stretto (Green) completed five furlongs in 1.4 3-5. She is to contest the Zealandia Handicap to-morrow and will bo ridden by B. H. Morris. Mile by Royal Appellant

Aero Queen (Gemmell) was just jn front of Trevace (Mcinally) at the end of five furlongs in 1.6, after taking 25s for tho first two furlongs. Aero Queen worked with more dash than usual.

Royal Appellant (Cameron) was a. shade in front of Gay Broney (Treiiiaiu) a;; the end of a mils in 1.48 3-5. They ran the last half in 54s and Royal Appellant was running on strongly. Gay Broney is showing something of her old dash since the tracks became easier.

Neil (Metcalfe), who jumped later, ran a circuit in 2.20 2-5, tho last halfmile in 57 2-ss.

Psychologist was tiring badly at the end of seven furlongs in 1.47. Palmint (W. H. Jones) beat Black Polly (Wiggins) over half a mile in 54 2-ss. Fleetwind (Gilchrist) and Aero Kiuy; (McTavish) were kicked out over the final furlong of five, to finish on terms in 1.4 3-5. It was a Rood gallop. Both are in the same race to-morrow.

Bronze Wing (Vaughan). after covering the first three in 40 2-ss, completed six furlongs in 1.21 3-5. He went nicely throughout. Pasture (0. Mclnally) and Rajanya (Cameron) led Lady Defoe (Clifford) in the early stages, but Lady Defoe was on terms in front with Pasture at the end of half a mile in 51 2-ss. Pasture and Lady Defoe worked well. Play On Goes Freely Play On (McTavish) had a big advantage of Privy Seal (Wiggins) at the end of six furlongs in 1.19 4-5, after taking 39 3-5s for tho first three. Play On was going freely throughout and created a good impression. Englishman, who jumped afterwards, was given a short sprint and Silver Quex (Ritchie) pleased by covering half a mile nicely in 51 4-ss. She has been working well. Jolie Dance (J. Mclnally) had nothing in reserve at the end of six furlongs in 1.21 4-5, but was hanging on solidly. Surella (Wiggins) led Mundane (Clifford) over six furlongs in 1.20 2-5. He went fast, to run the first three in 3S 4-ss, but was slowing up over tho last half-furlong, although still clear of his work-mate. Tybalt (Gilchrist) ran seven furlongs in i.32 4-5. He appeared to relish the easy going and finished in solid style. Rcreatu (Gilchrist) also relished the conditions and in recording 50 3-5s for half a mile did the best sprint of tho morning. Thurlap (Jones) ran five furlongs in 1.6 4-5. An unnamed Illumination eelding (Clifford) joined in at the three furlongs and finished in front in 40 l-ss. He performed encouragingly for a novice. Droll (Wiggins) and Ringshot (Vaughan) were clear of Viracious (Callagher) at the end of. seven furloncs in 1.32, after taking 51s for the first half-mile. It was a good elfort by the first-named pair. Valmint (Murray) was not extended to run half a mile in 55 4-ss. He is coming on nicely, but will not be icadv for some weeks. Silver Cloud Shows Speed Adsum (Wiggins) and Miss Mestor (Paul) ran a circuit in 2.11 4-5, the last half-mile in 56 4-ss. United (Gemmell) sprinted halt a mile in 52 3-ss. School Song (Duliou) and \Vhito Foam (Tonks) were on terms at the end of five furlongs in 1.7 1-5. Since being operated on School Song appears to make less noise than previously. Silver Cloud (Manson) and I irst Gold Money (Gilchrist) were on terms clear of Bronze Emerald (11. I'earn) at the end of three furlongs smartlv run in 38s. Silver Cloud had the worst of the weights and her display was P oTNo. 3 grass the Romnoy Siding ran half a mile in 56 2-ss, and Silver Sound went a furlong further in 1 6 1-5 Neil (Stokes), In Command (Chaplin« and Psychologist (Neil) set out to jump six hurdles, but Psychologist blundered and dislodged his rider at the first hurdle, the other pair going on to give a good display, with Neil especially pleasing.
