ROAD CONSTRUCTION
MUCH WORK IN WAIKATO [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Wednesday The heavy demands made on road Contractors were referred to at a meeting of the Waikato County Council yesterday, .when it was stated that on* contractor had reported that if the time limit noted in the contract was adhered to, lie would have to withdraw his tender. It was explained that it would suit tho council to have the work done at the contractor's .convenience, as a certain amount of material which would be required was not yet available. It was pointed out that the con-; tractor in. question, who, had heavy road-making equipment, had over a year's work in hand.
