SUNSHINE CLUB

MOVEMENT IN WELLINGTON EXAMPLE FROM AUCKLAND PROPOSED COLONY AT PORIRUA •[by telegraph—OWN correspondent] WELLINGTON, Monday A movement is afoot to assemble "liaturists" in Wellington city and suburbs, for the purpose of forming a colony in the neighbourhood of Porirua. Following close on the announcement that a "sun group" had been formed in Auckland, an advertisement appeared calling on those interested, in the promotion of a sunshine club to communicate with the orgauiser. Inquiries elicited that tbe club was to be open to membership of both sexes, and was

to encourage communal sunbathing and outdoor exercise in the simple uniform of the naturist.

The organiser, in an interview, said that he himself was a naturist, and was anxious to get in touch with others of like views. As soon as their opinions had been heard, steps would be taken to put the club on a sound business basis, and to obtain a suitable site for a colony. He himself had previously been a member of a small group who practised nudism at a lakeside resort near Hawera. They were obliged to desist when their sanctuary became known to an inquisitive public. He had not heard of the Auckland Sun Group, but had hoped his would be the first such organisation in Nqw Zealand. A similar movement was afoot in Christchureh.
