ELEVENTH ROUND GAMES S. HINDIN STILL LEADING [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] DUNEDIN, Tuesday The eleventh round of the New Zealand chess congress was played this afternoon and resulted in no change in the leading position of S. Hindin (Canterbury), who, with seven wins and two draws in nine games finished, is still half a point ahead of J. B. Dunlop, who, however, has played two more games than Hindin. The veteran, F. K. Kelling (Wellington), by winning his match against Severne in the afternoon and an adjourned game with Erskine in the morning, moved up to third place, a full point ahead of three others. Results are as follows:—Eleventh round: Hunter beat Belton; Hindin beat Newick; Dunlop beat McDermid; McNabb beat Burry; Kelling beat Severne; Erskine drew with Lang. The results of the twelfth round of the premier reserve competition are as follows:—Lang beat Allen; Langley beat Sterry; Christensen beat Hewitt by default.
