AUSTRALIA V. GERMANY BROMWICH'S GOOD PLAY EXHIBITION BY AMERICAN (Receiver! December 27. !».30 p.m.) SYDXEY. Dec. 27 A three-day tennis match between Australia ami Germany commenced today. The contest between Quist and von C'ramm was cancelled to permit Sydney people to witness the world's two leading players. Budge (America) and von Cramni. opposed in a three-set exhibition. Bromwich defeated Henkel. 6—l, 6 —l, 6—4. and von C'ramm defeated Budge. 6 —l, 6—3. Bromwich was superior to Henkel in all departments with the exception of his service. He forced the German wide with pacy ground shots and scored his winning points in the vacant court. Heukel's fastest serves and drop-shots were easily returned, while he repeatedly passed at the net.
- The exhibition match was a very poor affair. Budge did not exert himself at any stage and appeared uninterested. Yon C'ramm served magnificently and was otherwise steady.
