Rarotonga is, a brown son of Philamor from Spare Moment, by Merry Moment, and is a half-brother to Leisure. He races in the interest'of one of his breeders. Mr. D. R. Clark, Featherston, who has taken over the interest of Mr. W. J. McGill. Rarotonga had had three previous starts, . in the second of which he ran third to _ Taurangi and Rakalianga in the * Taita Handicap at Trentham.
