NOVEMBER WEATHER

RAINFALL BELOW AVERAGE LOWER MEAN TEMPERATURE TWO DAYS WITHOUT SUNSHINE Generally fine weather was experienced in Auckland during November, according to the report of the official Government observer in Auckland, Mr. S. M. Yallop. There were only two days 011 which sunshine was not recorded and tho rainfall on ten days was just below the average for tho month, only two heavy falls occurring. The rainfall for the period was 3.18 m., against 3.08 in. during November, 1936. The maximum fall occurred on November 24, when 1.20 in. were recorded. One day was warmer than any day during the previous November, an extreme maximum temperature of 77.20 degrees being recorded on November 29, compared with a reading of 76 degrees last year. The extreme minimum on November 5 was 49.6 degrees, and the lowest grass reading on November 26 was 42 degrees. The mean temperature for the month was 60.17 degrees, which was slightly lower than that of 60.57 degrees recorded last year. Nearly 20 hours more sunshine was experienced than during November of last year. The total for the month was 211 hours 36 minutes. Besides being tho hottest day, November 29 was also the day 011. which the sun shone longest, the recording being 13 hours 24 minutes. Barometric pressures were generally higher than last year, the mean of 30.024 in. comparing with 29.749 in. in the previous November.
