He was accompanied by Mrs. Bloodworth. Mr. J. R. Roojxjr, of London, a divector of the Port Line, was a passenger by the limited express from Wellington / ■ yesterday morning. Mr. L. 0. Desborough, of Wellington, will arrive by train this morning to take up his duties as registrar of Auckland University College. The Rev. J. C. Young, of Rotorua, has accepted a call to the Te Awnmutu Presbyterian Church. He will be in-" ducted on February 9. Mr. C. P. Wilson, of Chrijjfcchurch,.; president of the New Zealand Wool, brokers' Association, and Mrs. Wilson, are at the Grand Hotel. The Rev. G. E. Moreton, Anglican chaplain to the Auckland prison, returned by the limited express from the South yesterday morning. Mr. G. T. Wilson, superintendent of ff transportation for the Railway Department, arrived by train from Wellington yesterday morning. Mr. A. M. "Ferguson, chairman of directors of John Burns and Company, Limited, was a passenger for Wellington by air service yesterday. Mr. S. J. Harbutt, chairman of the Auckland Electric Power Board, left for Wellington by the limited express last night. He will return to-morrow morn- ' ing. t Mr. Alan Rutherford, a pilot member of the New Plymouth Aero Club, will leave for England next week to take up a position with the Anglo-Persian Oil Company. Mr/ Gordon Grant, of the Brooklyn School, Wellington, left yesterday bv the Aorangi on his way to London as an interchange teacher on the London unattached staff. Mr. A. L. Lewis, airport manager in Auckland for Pan American Airways, who recently underwent an operation in a private hospital, is making a good recovery, and has returned to his home. \ . jj-.. H. Orbell, of Christchurch. sailed by the Aorangi yesterday for Honolulu, where he will meet his son,. Dr. G. B. Orbell, who is returning to New Zealand after doing research work at Philadelphia. ' Professor F. P. Worley, professor or chemistry at Auckland University College, and president of the New Zealand Institute of Chemistry* left for "Wellington last night to attend the annual meeting of the institute, commencing . to-day. Mr. G. Mills, president of the Auckland branch of the New Zealand National Party, Mr. C. George and iliH. H. D. Wily, left by the afternoon express yesterday to attend a liyreting of the Dominion executive at Wellington to-dav. Mr. A. L. Moore, director of technical education at the New : Plvmouth Boys' High School, will leave shortly for an extended tour abroad to investigate aspects of education. He intends to visit Great Britain and Europe, and to return by way of America. Mr. R. Armstrong, president of the Auckland Harbour Preservation Society, . and Mr. F. C. Jordan, secretary, left for Wellington last night by the limited express, to present a petition to Parliament concerning - the Auckland metropolitan drainage scheme.
