DOMAIN AT ROTORUA

GRANT OF £250 APPROVED USE AS PUBLIC SPORTS AREA [ltY TKT.KG UA PH—OWK CO it respondent] ROTORUA, Monday A grant of £2oo has been approved by the Minister of Lands, the Hon. F. Langstone, toward the improvement work at present being carried out by the Rotorua Borough Council at the Kuirail Domain. The domain, which was formerly an expanse of scrub-covered land to the west of Pukeroa Hill and about five minutes' walk from the centre of the town, was recently cleared and beautified and the tile draining of 10 acres has now been completed with the object of forming a sports area. The original lay-out for the area was planned some years ago and ultimately it is hoped to carry out all the work required to turn the area into a public park and sports area capable of accommodating all the different codes of sport in the town.
