LABOUR IN AUSTRALIA FEDERAL ELECTION OUTCOME PARTIES IN NEW HOUSE By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received November -I, 5.5 p.m.) SYDNEY, Nov. 4 The counting of the votes for the House of Representatives in the Federal Parliament is practically complete in all States. The only seat gained by Labour from the Government is at Ballarat. The Gwydir scat, retained by Mr. W. Scully (Labour), was originally won by him at a by-election last May. Tbo state of parties in the new Parliament will bo: — New Last Parliament Parliament United Australia . . 28 31 Independent United Australia . . 1 United Country . . 15 15 Victorian Country 1 Labour 29 28 Totals .... 74 74 Tbo Victorian Country Party member, is Mr. A. Wilson, who defeated the sitting United Country Party member, Mr. H. McClelland. The first Senator to bo declared elected is Mr. AY. Aylett, ono of the Labour team in Tasmania.
The distribution of preference votes in Tasmania, and also in Victoria, is proceeding.
