The figures for. 1936-37 are: — For threshing..-—Wheat: 221,790 acres;' oats, 71,772; barley, 20,544. For chaffing: Wheat, 1400 acres; oats. 187,694; . barley, 694. Total harvested: Wheat,! 223,190 acres; oats, 262,466; barley," 21.238. Not harvested (fed off, etc.) Wheat, 1447 acres; oats. 53,238; barley, 4274. Grand totals: Wheat, 224,637 acres;? oTits," 315,704; barley, 25,512,.--Jhc estimated ■ areas for 1937-38 are: —North Island: Wheat, 3300 acres; oats. 16,500;' barley, 3200. South Island: Wheat, 184.700 acres; bats. 269.100; barley, 27.300. Totals (both islands): Wheat, 188.000 acres; oats, 285,600; barley, 30.500^ The tabulation of statistics for potatoes gives the following results:—l 93637.—North Island: 5812 acres. South Island: 16.650 acres. The estimated figures for 1937-38 are:—North Island: 4900 acres. South Island: 16,800 acres.
