KILTOWYN GOES FAST SIX FURLONGS IN 1.14 3-5 BRONZE ORA AND LAND GIRL A fast six furlongs in 1.14 3-5 by Kiltowyn was the outstanding feature of the training operations at Ellorslie yesterday. The galloping was accomplished on tlio No. 2 grass, where the going was fast, and Kiltowyn (Markwick) went in good style, covering the first three furlongs in 36 2-os. He lias benefited by his recent racing and will disappoint if he fails to make an early return to tlio winning list. On the grass Kilonsa (Tremain) placed six furlongs behind in 1.25 4-5, tlio last three in 43 2-ss. She is doing everything required of her satisfactorily and should bo ready for a solid effort at the Takapuna Jockey Club's Spring Meeting. Fersen .(Gilchrist), after working steadily on the tan, ran six furlongs in 1.17 3-5, the last three in 395. Recent racing has wrought improvement in Fersen and. ho should bo capable of a good effort when next raced. l?oyal Appellant (Buchanan) and Saccone (Hearn) were on terms at the end of a round in 1.56 1-5, the last halfmile in 58 2-os. Pasture (Tremain) sprinted lialf a mile in 50 2-ss. This novice, who is to compete on the second day at Whangarei, lias a good turn of speed. Fearn), who secured the best of the start, was in front of Laud Girl (Tremain) at the end of a smart half-mile in 50s. Bronze Ora showed plenty of dash and is a promising two-year-old. Rajanya is making good progress and Volition has improved in condition in recent weeks. Surella (Baker), who secured a break of a couplo of lengths at tho start, and Tahae Mea (Markwick) were on terms at the end of half a mile in 51 4-ss. Surella was not ridden out and allowed Tahae Mea to draw level over the final stages. Stretto's Six Furlongs On the tan Kelly (Gilchrist) covered a round in 1.59 3-5, the last-six furlongs in 1.24 1-5 and the last half-mile in 56 4-ss.
