DIAMOND JUBILEE
NORTHCOTE SCHOOL Celebrations to commemorate the diamond jubilee of the Northcote School are to be held on March 25, 26 ad 27 next year, when the new block being erected for the high school is expected to be opened. The actingprincipal of the. Northcote District Higli School, Mr. H. 11. Clark, prosided at the preliminary meeting, when proposals were formulated for organis- \ ing the celebrations. These wore! adopted at a public meeting this week, j the chairman of the school committee, Mr. N. J. Campbell, presiding. A Jubilee celebration committee was; elected. Mr. P. C. Cross is chtdrman, Mr. S. T. Carter, the organising sec-1 retary, and Mr. A. J. Maxwell, the treasurer. The matter has been taken i up enthusiastically, and inanv old scholars now living in rnap.y--parts of the Dominion have signified their intention of taking part/ in the celebrations.
