AWARD TO FARM LABOURER
CLAIM ARISES FROM ACCIDENT [BT TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] CHRISTCfIUECH, Thursday Damages totalling £2052 wore awarded by a jury on a three-quarters majority to Henry Alexander Kay, a farm labourer, of Greendale, at the conclusion of the hearing in the Supreme Court to-day of his claim against Arthur Walter Andrews, n truck driver, of Opawn. The claim, which was for £2500, arose from a. collision between a motor-cycle ridden by plaintiff, and n motor-truck and trailer driven by defendant at the intersection of the Darfield-Burnham Road and the Benley IJoad to Horornta. .Mr. C. S. Thomas and with him Mr. E. E. England appeared for plaintiff, and Mr. D. W. Russell for defendant. Negligence on several grounds, ;unong them failure to give way to a vehicle approaching on the right, was alleged by plaintiff. Jt was claimed that because of his injuries he had been so disabled as to be made unfit to follow his occupation as a teamster or ploughman.
