Oct. -J'J Miss Jean Batten, progressing on her flight from Darwin to England, continues to make excellent headway, and her prospects of setting a new time for the trip seem bright. Broad bent, who hopes to lower Miss Batten's record for the flight from Fngland to Australia, took off from Hamvorth aerodrome at o o'clock this morning. The moon was shining brightly as he started across the aerodromo. His first stop will be Koine.

He is flying the Leopard Moth machine in which he previously broke the Australia-England record.

The airman wheeled the machine out of the hangar unaided. He said ho intends to do a good deal of night flying and hopes to accomplish the flight in less than five days. He said lie did not know where ho would pass Miss Batten.
