The New Zealand Migration Association, Limited, was formed some time ago, and was sponsored by groups of practical and successful farmers at a number of points in the Dominion. The extension of these groups to embrace all types of agriculture, and to include all potential areas for settlement is one of the aims of the association.
In outlining the plans of the organisation, the honorary organiser, Mr. JKingsford, of Cambridge, explained that the migrant must have capital sufficient to set himself up adequately in the particular branch of farming that he elects to follow, and before he is permitted to buy land and settle it must be established that he trained and that be is protected bv competent supervision against loss in his initial purchase of land and stock. The association aims to ensure a carefid selection of likely migrants-, who, bearing their own cost of transport, would, on reaching the Dominion, report for training to such group as seems appropriate, having regard to their ultimate intentions and available capital. Training would, be done 011 approved local farms under the supervision of the local group. The group would assist the migrant with the purchase and stocking of a suitable and provide supervision over the. ear y period of his new enterprise.
