SEQUEL TO FALL
MAN'S DEATH IN HOSPITAL ADJOURNMENT OF INQUEST [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON. Tuesday An inquest into the death of William George Gregory Clarke, aged 67, a retired farmer, of Ellis Street, Frankton, was opened before the coroner, Mr. F. W. Pl.atts, yesterday. Deceased was admitted to the >Waikato Hospital on Friday suffering from a fractured rib, which he received in a fall.
Dr. Lannes Fullarton Johnson, of the hospital staff, gave evidence that deceased died of pneumonia and heart failure following the injury to the rib. The inquest was adjourned. Deceased was born in Auckland. He entered business as a gum broker in Auckland and was later associated With the Stock Exchange. For the last 30 years he had been engaged in farming. first at Bombay and later at Taupiri He was a representative Auckland footballer, and was a member of St. George's Rowing Club. Mr. Clarke is survived by his widow, two sons and two daughters.
