TWO CALLS TO FIRES
BURNING TRUCK AND SACKS Two calls from boxes in different parts of the city were answered by machines from the Central Fire Station last evening. Tho first outbreak occurred shortly after 7.30 3 a truck belonging to the Post and Telegraph Department catching fire in Stanley Street. A machine from both the Central and Parnell stations answered the call, and made a good save of the burning vehicle. , The igniting of some sacks m the railwav yards bordering on Quay Street was the cause of the second call at 8 o'clock. Two engiues from the central station, after a speedy run down Queen Street, were soon on the scene, the outbreak being rapidly extinguished by means of the first-aid reel. No damage was done.
