BRITAIN'S SECURITY
DETERMINED POLICY IMPREGNABLE DEFENCES British Wireless RUGBY. Oct. 13 The First Lord of the Admiralty, Mr. A. Duff' Cooper, in addressing trades union leaders as a guest of the National Trades Union Club in London, said: "It is now established in Britain and it is for the whole world to knowthat this is a cohesive nation and will proceed with rhythmic tread to the attainment of impregnable defences.
"Let it be realised that on this issue our decisions, whether in Cabinet or in congress, are inflexible and are at one," said the Minister. "We do not halt between two opinions. "We shall resist aggression on ourselves, our kindred and our ideals, and we shall make ourselves fit to do so both in materials and men." The First Lord added: "Democracies do not declare wars for aggressive purposes. Their system of public discussion prevents hasty decisions. How important, therefore, it is that in view of what is at stake, their defence should be secure!"
