NIGHT NOISES
Sir, —It is satisfactory to note that Whangarei is considering following the lead given by Rotorua in eliminating night noises. The crowing of roosters during the night hours is often a source of serious distress and ill-health to neighbours. It is certain that those boroughs which prohibit the keeping of roosters will be considered as very desirable residential centres. It is all to the good that local authorities are now beebming alive to the urgent necessity of safeguarding the quietude of the night hours. Citizen.
