RIFLE SHOOTING
AUCKLAND CITY CLUB A practice shoot under service conditions and with N.R.A. targets was fired by members of the Auckland City Defence Rifle Club. Conditions were very bad, as tho wind was high and continuous rain interfered with the visibility. The practices fired were:—Five rounds application, five rounds snap-shooting and ten rounds rapid, tho practice at the snap-shooting disc being abandoned. The scores were:—R. Vcrrall, 77; H. Judkins, 75; S. C. Parkinson, 72; T. L. Blomfield, F. Bowes. 70; F- Clark, 67; I. J. Spry. 05; R. C. Russell. I. G. Campbell, 03; Williams, 01; Pliaro, J. M. Jessop, SS; B. Crocker, H. Simmonds. 57; A. J. PieterF.on 50; A.' W. Harris, 55; H. (3-. Collingivood, E. Johns, .53; R. R. Boaden, 49; R. ■W. 11. Howie, H. W. Vcrrall, 4S; D. F. Perrin. 'ls;' .T. E. Bond. 42; C. E. Bush, 41; W. R. Buchanan, 40; E. Hill. 30; T. Wilson, 23. The club will meet teams from the Royal Navy, Air Force, >.uid territorial units in a competition under service conditions next. Saturday morning at 9.30 o'clock, teams being selected on the ground. In the afternoon the first round of thi service championship will be fired.
