TOURNEY AT MOUNT EDEN The Mount Eden Bowline Club will hold a two-Saturdays open tournament on September IS and October 2, commencing at 1.30 p.m. on each day. Tho manager, Mr. W. ,A. Dee, said that!since thoy left-New Zealand at the ' end of May they had played G1 matches, won 41, drawn ; 2 and lost 18: Tho standard of bowling in Australia was not up to the best New Zealand play, said Mr. Deo. Tho members of tho team, however, took some time to adjust themselves to the heavier Australian greens and lost the first oight matches for that renson. The greens in Australia wore longer, 125 ft, compared with 112 ft in Now Zealand. Tho couch grasses with which they wore planted wero much heavier and did not wear bare at the ends as did New Zealand greens. AUCKLAND CLUB'S TOURNEY The fii«l of the Auckland Bowling Club's all-day Saturday tourney was played between teams representing the Balmoral and Rocky Nook Clubs.
