WH ANGAREI DEFENCE CLUB [BY TELBGRArn —OWN CORRESPONDENT] WHAXGAREI, Tuesday The Whangarei Defence Eiflo Club held s shoot yesterday for the J. Hamilton trophy. Tho weather was showery and boisterous, making good shooting at times' difficult. The trophy was.won by S. E. Foot, with scores of 40 at 300 yards, 48, at 500 yards, 43 at 000 yards, and a handicap of 5, a total ol "142. Other scores were:—W. T. Norris. 44, 4S, 45, scr —137; D. E. Wilton. -17, 45. ,43. scr—l3s; J. Norris, 40, 44, 40, scr—l3o; J. Litchfield. 40. 42, 41, scr--! 29; G. Neville, 15, -17, 37, scr—l29; J. H. Ashton. 44, !<>, 37, set —127; E. A. Foot, 34, 35, :*&, S—ll2. Tho trophy for the second best score, donated by Mr. Hamilton, was won hy \V I, Norris, while the third trophy, donated fcj S. E. Foot, was won by D. E. Wilton.
